Inge's Morning Run Haiku

I love Inge's Haiku.  When I read it, I'm right there with her........seeing the light, smelling the woods, hearing the sounds.............

Leaves begin to fall
The pathway becomes a quilt
So brightly colored

The Female Brain

Excerpt.........

Imagine for a moment that you are in a microcapsule speeding up the vaginal canal, hitting warp drive through the cervix ahead of the tsunami of sperm. Once inside the uterus, you'll see a giant, undulating egg waiting for that lucky tadpole with enough moxie to penetrate the surface. Let's say the sperm that led the charge carries an X and not a Y chromosome. VoilĂ , the fertilized egg is a girl.

In the span of just thirty-eight weeks, we would see this girl grow from a group of cells that could fit on the head of a pin to an infant who weighs an average of seven and a half pounds and possesses the machinery she needs to live outside her mother's body. But the majority of the brain development that determines her sex-specific circuits happens during the first eighteen weeks of pregnancy.

Until eight weeks old, every fetal brain looks female - female is na-ture's default gender setting. If you were to watch a female and a male brain developing via time-lapse photography, you would see their circuit diagrams being laid down according to the blueprint drafted by both genes and sex hormones. A huge testosterone surge beginning in the eighth week will turn this unisex brain male by killing off some cells in the communication centers and growing more cells in the sex and aggression centers. If the testosterone surge doesn't happen, the female brain continues to grow unperturbed. The fetal girl's brain cells sprout more connections in the communication centers and areas that process emotion. How does this fetal fork in the road affect us? For one thing, because of her larger communication center, this girl will grow up to be more talkative than her brother. Men use about seven thousand words per day. Women use about twenty thousand. For another, it defines our innate biological destiny, coloring the lens through which each of us views and engages the world..........

I diverge briefly........................

Hallows, Samhain - October 31st

Artist unknown

Although many people today would call it Halloween (a contraction of Hallowed Eve), the Victorians may have called this holiday Snap Apple Night or Nut Crack Night because of the traditional divination games played with nuts or apple peelings to determine the initials of future bridegrooms..................For the user of magic, Samhain or Halloween is the in-between time, the time of the dead.  The new year and the old swing on the same hinge, and the veil between worlds grows thin..............at this time our spiritual energy should be refilled to ensure sustenance for the winter.

What if you slept?  And what if, in your
sleep, you dreamed?  And what if, in your
dream, you went to heaven and plucked a
strange and beautiful flower?  And what if,
when you awoke, you had the flower in
your hand? Ah, what then?

Fingerprints of God

Is the spiritual experience real?  Or is it a delusion?  When we pray, what happens? Does consciousness depend entirely on your brain and the unique way it works?  ...............excerpt from "Fingerprints of God".

Very interesting book.

Aura and Chakra Chart - KNOW Your Energy Field

Psychc Protection

http://www.mineralminers.com/

Everyone can benefit from using some level of psychic protection in their lives, but if you work a lot with people, particularly with the vulnerable, or as a psychic or healer, then you should build psychic protection into your daily routine.

Many ‘New Agers’ believe that if they are working ‘in love and light’ nothing can harm them. Wrong! You can pick up psychic debris from places and people just by being there, and of course when you move negative energies in a healing you don’t want to take them away with you in your energy field!

Psychic attacks can also be made by people, sometimes unintentionally, and by discarnate entities. Unfortunately just as you may attract the attention of guides and angels as you follow your spiritual pathway, so you may attract the attention of other less desirable beings. Many who rush into healing without proper guidance and care, particularly those who aim to ‘become a Reiki Master in a weekend’ are especially at risk. Fortunately there are a number of ways to prevent you being ‘easy prey’.

At its most basic ‘psychic protection’ is about keeping healthy. People with a robust constitution are much less likely to pick up negativity. If the aura is kept strong and resilient any negativity will bounce off and it will be much harder to ‘get at you’. All the usual health advice- regular exercise, a healthy diet, enough rest and relaxation, no smoking or drugs and very moderate or no drinking will help to keep you well at every level.

Limit the time you spend in close proximity to electromagnetic fields. Sit further from the television and don’t leave electrical equipment on in the bedroom, even on ‘standby’- these energies are harmful and can weaken your energy field over time.

Keep your thinking positive- negative thinkers are less healthy generally and can’t repel challenges to their systems as effectively- whether it’s a cold bug or a negative thoughtform.

Get outside! Some places are particularly cleansing and recharging. A walk by the sea invigorates mind, body and spirit. Alternatively any other stretch of clean running water is cleansing. Hilltops are usually healthy places to go, aim for somewhere with clean air, where the breeze can blow through your aura and refresh you. Even in a City it is good to get away from the streets and into a park. Natural energies, particularly from trees can really perk up your aura. If the sun shines take the opportunity to sit or stand in it for a while-you can feel the rays topping your batteries up!

There are some simple aura cleansing and protecting routines which will help to keep your energy field in good shape. You won’t want to use all of these- you’d never get out of the door in the morning! Experiment to find a combination that suits you and your lifestyle.

Stay grounded. Visualise roots growing deep down into the Earth from the soles of your feet. Being ‘well grounded’ offers a great deal of protection. Practice your grounding visualisation every morning and whenever you feel ‘spacey’. Carry hematite or another grounding stone with you if necessary.

Visualise a bubble around yourself, protecting the outer edge of your aura like a strong, flexible membrane. Your bubble can be filled with any colour that takes your fancy when you visualise it- or even be rainbow hued. Experiment to see what you feel most comfortable with. Make sure that your bubble goes all around you- behind your back and under your feet too. Use your intention to ensure that the bubble repels all negativity, but will allow positive energies to flow through it. Put your bubble in place whenever you feel the need for protection.

Instead of the bubble exercise you may use a hooded, floor length cloak or a shield decorated with a protective design of your choice. The shield idea is versatile as you can use a ‘mini shield’ over any area you feel vulnerable, such as your solar plexus.

Develop awareness of your own energy field. If you are in a crowd or on public transport pull your aura in close around you so that you aren’t wafting through other people’s energies and unwittingly offering something the chance to hop on you! Remember to let your aura expand out again afterwards otherwise you will begin to feel decidedly ‘uptight’!!

If you shower in the morning visualise the water flowing through your energy field carrying away any negativity down the plughole with it. If you prefer a bath you may add sea or rock salt to the water- about a cupful- dissolve it well. Salt has long been renowned for its cleansing properties.

Use crystals. Several of the crystals have strong protective qualities. Favourites are black tourmaline or tourmalinated quartz, but you may also like to try black obsidian or smoky quartz.

Use essential oils. Put a drop in the palm of your hand, then rub your hands together and pass them through your aura. Try Eucalyptus, Juniper or Frankincense. You can use Aura Soma products in a similar way. The Deep Red Pomander is recommended for those working with crystal energies.

Experiment with essences. There are many brands on the market offering Psychic protection formulas, or you could dowse up and make your own crystal essence.

Carry a symbol of protection that is meaningful for you, such as a cross, a pentacle or a Star of David. A paper representation will do, but you may prefer a piece of jewellery.

If You Suspect You’ve Picked Something up...

Signs and Symptoms
-Feeling down or angry with no real cause- especially if this is out of character for you.
-Feeling really drained or tired for no reason
-Having odd thoughts that just don’t sound like you
-You have feelings of being out of control
-Bad dreams

Don’t panic! The vibration of fear is attractive to all sorts of nasties and won’t do you any good anyway. Keep calm and try one of the exercises below. If you still feel something is wrong contact an experienced healer.

Hold your hands under cool running water, especially the wrists. This is especially helpful if the feeling of something ‘not being right’ comes on after being around others.

Take a cleansing shower or salt bath as described before. It may just be some ‘psychic debris’ that needs to be dissolved away.

Visualise a shower of light running through your aura and dissolving any negativity.

Check out who you’ve been talking to! If you communicate with your guides or angels this can help your development as a healer, but if you invite communication with all and sundry you are putting yourself at some risk. Remember there are always bad guys balancing out the good guys. Don’t believe everything you hear on the psychic airways!

Smudge through your aura or use frankincense.

Use a cleansing spray or gem or flower essence through your energy field.

Carry some black tourmaline with you.

If you feel someone ‘has it in for you’ visualise a mirror sending any thoughts they have about you straight back to them. This won’t hurt them if they are actually sending positive thoughts.

This starts with the establishment of a further six major settlements by members of the senior council at Jericho, Ba'albek, Ebla, Catal Huyak, Olympus and On, which soon followed their establishment of the Kharsag (Eden) site. Mystical Poetry

http://www.thebest3d.com/pdpro/tutorials/notkirlian/index.html

Poetry is one of the most useful expressions of a mystic's inner experiences. By nature a mystic is able to access a state of consciousness that is beyond the usual awarenes of human's. At a certain stage mystics and great seekers have said it is impossible to describe the consciousness they have attained.
However through poetry it is possible for the mystic poets to give a glimpse of higher worlds, like a finger pointing to the moon there inspiring utterances offer a poetic description of their elevating experiences.

Mystic Poets:

include:
Mystical Poetry springs from genuine mysticism.

Extract from Mysticism by Sri Chinmoy

"Study mysticism if you want to. It will give your heart joy, your mind inspiration and your life a true, fulfilling and soulful assurance. But do not try to define it. Do not try to interpret it. If you try to define mysticism, you are bound to fail. If you try to interpret mysticism, you will most deplorably fail.
We get experiences: from science, scientific discoveries; from history, historical revelations; from philosophy, philosophical data; from religion, religious doctrines. In these experiences, we see the presence of subject and object, essence and existence, vision and reality. But a mystic experience, which is immediate oneness, transcends all such distinctions. This experience is the constant oneness with the Beyond, the ever transcending Beyond that always remains ineffable. Mysticism, poor mysticism! When it is oversimplified and underestimated, it comes down from its original sphere and stands beside religion. But even here if a person is sincere, he will realise that his highest religious experience is nothing more than an uncertain, obscure and faint perception of Truth; whereas, no matter what kind of mystical experience he has, he will feel the intensity, immensity and certainty of Truth. "

Poem by Rumi - That Lives In Us

If you put your hands on this oar with me,
they will never harm another, and they will come to find
they hold everything you want.

If you put your hands on this oar with me, they would no longer
lift anything to your
mouth that might wound your precious land-
that sacred earth that is
your body.

If you put your soul against this oar with me,
the power that made the universe will enter your sinew
from a source not outside your limbs, but from a holy realm
that lives in us.

Exuberant is existence, time a husk.
When the moment cracks open, ecstasy leaps out and devours space;
love goes mad with the blessings, like my words give.

Why lay yourself on the torturer’s rack of the past and future?
The mind that tries to shape tomorrow beyond its capacities
will find no rest.

Be kind to yourself, dear- to our innocent follies.
Forget any sounds or touch you knew that did not help you dance.
You will come to see that all evolves us.

If you put your heart against the earth with me, in serving
every creature, our Beloved will enter you from our sacred realm
and we will be, we will be
so happy.

The Language of Flowers and What They Mean

In the Victorian era, it became popular to send people messages told in the language of flowers. There was a fairly standard list, so if you received a bouquet of lemon blossoms, for example, you'd know that someone was promising you fidelity and faithfulness in their love for you. Many of these centuries-old flower meanings translate well into modern Paganism and Wicca -- after all, if magic uses symbolism, we can take this language of flowers and incorporate it into our day-to-day magical living.
Here is a partial list of flowers and their meanings.
  • Acacia: secret love
  • Agrimony: gratitude
  • Apple blossom: good fortunes
  • Arbor vitae: undying friendship
  • Bluebell: constancy of the heart, humility
  • Buttercup: childhood friendship

Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)

What is Seasonal Affective Disorder

Seasonal affective disorder (SAD) is a type of depression that tends to occur (and recur) as the days grow shorter in the fall and winter. It is believed that affected people react adversely to the decreasing amounts of sunlight and the colder temperatures as the fall and winter progress. It is important to note that although seasonal affective disorder usually presents in the fall and winter there are those who suffer from this condition during the summer instead of, or in addition to, during the fall or winter.

Seasonal affective disorder has not been long recognized as an official diagnosis. The term first appeared in print in 1985. Seasonal affective disorder is also sometimes called winter depression, winter blues, or the hibernation reaction.

The incidence of seasonal affective disorder increases in people who are living farther away from the equator. Statistics on seasonal affective disorder in the United States include that this disorder occurs in about 5% of adults, with up to 20% of people having some symptoms of the condition but not sufficient enough to meet diagnostic criteria for this disorder. Seasonal affective disorder is less common where there is snow on the ground. Seasonal affective disorder is about four times more common in women than men, and the average age of people when they first develop this illness is 23 years of age. People of all ages can develop seasonal affective disorder.

Runes

Runes are letters in a family of ancient alphabets known as runic alphabets. Runes were used as a method of communication across Scandinavia and in other Germanic nations from around the 3rd century CE to around the 13th century, when they were displaced by the Roman alphabet. Thousands of examples of runic inscriptions can be found in stones, coins, and artwork, and many Scandinavian countries also boast extensive collections of runic manuscripts. Runes are also used by some people as a tool for divination, since these individuals believe that runes have mysterious powers.

Remote Viewing - The Stargate Chronicles, Memoirs of a Psychic Spy

Joseph McMoneagle is now known as the best Operational Remote Viewer in the history of the U.S. Army's Special Project - Stargate.  He was the only remote viewer who worked one-on-one with the out-of-body pioneer Robert Monroe, and who has achieved intelligence collection results that have never been surpassed and rarely equaled..........The Stargate Chronicles, Memoirs of a Psychic Spy.

Remote Viewing

STAR GATE [Controlled Remote Viewing]

STAR GATE was one of a number of "remote viewing programs" conducted under a variety of code names, including SUN STREAK, GRILL FLAME, and CENTER LANE by DIA and INSCOM, and SCANATE by CIA. These efforts were initiated to assess foreign programs in the field; contract for basic research into the the phenomenon; and to evaluate controlled remote viewing as an intelligence tool.

The program consisted of two separate activities. An operational unit employed remote viewers to train and perform remote viewing intelligence-gathering. The research program was maintained separately from the operational unit.

This effort was initiated in response to CIA concerns about reported Soviets investigations of psychic phenomena. Between 1969 and 1971, US intelligence sources concluded that the Soviet Union was engaged in "psychotronic" research. By 1970, it was suggested that the Soviets were spending approximately 60 million rubles per year on it, and over 300 million by 1975. The money and personnel devoted to Soviet psychotronics suggested that they had achieved breakthroughs, even though the matter was considered speculative, controversial and "fringy."

The initial research program, called SCANATE [scan by coordinate] was funded by CIA beginning in 1970. Remote viewing research began in 1972 at the Stanford Research Institute [SRI] in Menlo Park, CA. This work was conducted by Russell Targ and Harold Puthoff, once with the NSA and at the time a Scientologist. The effort initially focused on a few "gifted individuals" such as New York artist Ingo Swann, an OT Level VII Scientologist. Many of the SRI "empaths" were from the Church of Scientology. Individuals who appeared to show potential were trained and taught to use talents for "psychic warfare." The minimum accuracy needed by the clients was said to be 65%, and proponents claim that in the later stages of the training effort, this accuracy level was "often consistently exceeded."..............

Mudras

Introduction to Mudras

What mudras are.
Mudras are positions of the body that have some kind of influence on the energies of the body, or your mood. Mostly the hands and fingers are held in some position, but the whole body may be part of the mudra as well.
Gyan mudraThe most well-known mudras are probably the ones performed while meditating. One sits in lotus position (or with crossed legs) and either puts one's hands on the knees, the tips of the thumb and index finger joining, or in the lap, the fingers of the right hand resting on the left palm. But also the christian crossing of the fingers for prayer is a mudra, as is the indian greeting gesture (that is also used while praying), where the hands are held in front of the chest, the palms touching.
The crossing of the hands puts one's attention within, while opening the heart. The indian greeting gesture puts one into a mood of respect.
Hakini mudraSome mudras are performed spontaneously by many people, like the Hakini mudra, where the tips of all fingers from the right hand touch the corresponding fingertips from the left.
Mudras have been in use in the East for thousands of years, particularly in Buddhism. Buddha statues often have the hands in certain hand positions. They have been used as a spiritual practice (and still are), as a way on the path to enlightenment.

Gods, Genes, and Conciousness

Nonhuman intervention in human history???

In recent decades, scientific and historical research has made it possible to validate much historical information in the Bible and other ancient texts or artifacts.  For instance, we now know the Hebrew Pentateuch and the Hindu Rig Veda accurately describe geographical details (mountains, deserts, and rivers) of the Middle East and India respectively.  They name kingdoms, rulers, and battles that can be corroborated by other sources.  They describe cultures that can be verified through archaeology and anthropology.  They contain authenticated facts about astronomy, agriculture, social practices, and institutions.  Therefore, that they speak of AB (Alien Being) involvement in human origins should be taken seriously.................

The Origin of Consciousness in The Breakdown of the Bicameral Mind

Bicameralism (psychology) from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In psychology, bicameralism is a hypothesis which argues that the human brain once assumed a state known as a bicameral mind in which cognitive functions are divided between one part of the brain which appears to be "speaking", and a second part which listens and obeys.

The term was coined by psychologist Julian Jaynes, who presented the idea in his 1976 book The Origin of Consciousness in the Breakdown of the Bicameral Mind, wherein he made the case that a bicameral mentality, that is to say a mental state in which there are two distinct sections of consciousness, was the normal and ubiquitous state of the human mind as recently as 3000 years ago.

He used governmental bicameralism to metaphorically describe such a state, in which the experiences and memories of the right hemisphere of the brain are transmitted to the left hemisphere via auditory hallucinations. This mental model was replaced by the conscious mode of thought, which Jaynes argues is grounded in the acquisition of metaphorical language. The idea that language is a necessary component of subjective consciousness and more abstract forms of thinking has been gaining acceptance in recent years, with proponents such as  Daniel Dennett, William H. Calvin, Merlin Donald, John Limber, Howeard Margolis, Peter Carruthers and Jose Luis Bermudez.

Great Red Dragon and the Woman Clothed with the Sun

Mysticism - book written by Evelyn Underhill

Excerpt taken from Part I Chapter I "Mysticism - The Point of Departure"

The most highly developed branches of the human family have in common one peculiar characteristic.  They tend to produce-sporadically it is true, and often in the teeth of adverse external circumstance-a curious and definite type of personality; a type which refuses to be satisfied with that which other men call experience, and is inclined, in the words of its enemies, to "deny the world in order that it may find reality."  We meet these persons in the east and the west; in the ancient, medieval, and modern worlds.  Their one passion appears to be the prosecution of a certain spiritual and intangible quest: the finding of a "way out" or a "way back" to some desirable state in which for them, has constituted the whole meaning of life.  They have made for it without effort sacrifices which have appeared enormous to other men.................

Excerpt taken from Part I Chapter VII "Mysticism and Magic".

"Magical operations," says Eliphas Levi," are the exercise of a power which is natural, but superior to the ordinary powers of nature.  They are the result of a science and of habits, which exalt the human will above its usual limits."  This power of the will is now recognized as playing an important part both in the healing of the body and the healing of the soul .......

Apocalypse - by Norman Cohan.

Norman's poems fascinate me.  They are coded....so look beneath the surface.

Ominous tones of psychosocial stress
Hasten a catharsis in consciousness
To carry culture athwart the chasm
A kindling ignites an inkling a spur
As purgatives and paradigms concur
In this time of parenthesis - Atone
Shockwaves are swelling the marginal zone
A luminous rush ineffably slips
Across the epoch of Apocalypse
This crisis point with miracles gifted
Is swiftly into epiphanies lifted
One the road a godsend a prod a goad
To go into godhood and then explode
